February 22, 2011 marks the day Thomas and I promised forever to each other. We had been dating for 3 years (partly long distance after my mom retired from the Army and we moved back to NC) and he had recently moved across the country from Washington to North Carolina so that we could be near each other again. After being in NC for about a year and working at Discount Tire, he decided he was going to join the U.S. Army. Right before he left for Basic Training we decided we wanted to get married, we had talked about it and decided we would go ahead and tie the knot before he left. There wasn't much of a proposal it was just a conversation about marriage and he asked what I thought about it and if I wanted to do it. I know it's not as romantic as other couples stories, but it's real and us [and if you knew Thomas you would know he's not much of a planner or a huge romantic guy, he is straight and to the point so this didn't shock me]! So the following day I skipped my College Calculus class to go to the Justice of Peace to marry my high school sweetheart in jeans and cowboy boots! Looking back on it now I realize how crazy and impulsive it was (totally not me I am the most indecisive person ever) to get married on a whim at 19 years old. I still think it is one of the best decisions I have ever made and wouldn't change it for the world.
This is the only picture we have from our original wedding day (of course I'm biting my lip I was so nervous...who wouldn't be getting married at 19 years old)! I was so sick and found out later that day I was sick with the Flu!

3 years after getting married we were able to have our dream wedding on a beautiful summer day in the most perfect rustic barn. It was everything we could have dreamed of and more! It was such a special day where we were able to celebrate and have our family and friends to come together as one.

I thought it would be fun to share some photos of us over the past 12 years we have been together! So....who's ready for a trip down memory lane?
I hope you enjoyed this fun trip down memory lane with my better half :) And can we please take a moment to appreciate I finally started wearing makeup and learned how to apply it correctly haha! It is scary to look back at my makeup....I had no idea what I was doing, we didn't have YouTube tutorials back then! Would y'all be interested in seeing my everyday makeup tutorial? Let me know over on my Instagram or Facebook post!
What a beautiful life we have created. I can't believe it has already been 8 years since we said "I Do"! It's been an amazing journey and I look forward to spending the rest of our lives together.
Love you Forever and always!
