HOW TO STYLE A UTILITY JACKET

  1. ADD A POP OF PLAID
A plaid top is an essential for your Fall wardrobe! It adds a fun pop of color to any look and it keeps you warm in the cooler Fall weather. I tend to go for a red color scheme plaid, it is so versatile and classic. There are so many ways to style a plaid top, for this particular post I paired it with a basic white tee for a simple everyday look. Wear this plaid top unbuttoned for a little more casual look that is perfect for showing off your layers. Fall is all about layering so simply add a utility jacket and you're good to go! You could easily dress this look down even more with a pair of Converse sneakers if you're going to a weekend sporting event.
  2. KEEP IT SIMPLE WITH A BASIC TEE
The easiest way to style a utility jacket is with a basic tee. Almost everyone has a basic tee in their wardrobe so it will be super easy to recreate this look. I love to add a pop of color by adding a plaid scarf to the look on cooler Fall days. Of course, you know I had to add my cowboy boots to complete the look! Wearing a Fall colored tee layered with a utility jacket and a neutral necklace is another fun way to style a utility jacket. This is such a simple look and is perfect for running errands on the weekends. Another simple classic look that I love is this striped tee paired with an olive utility jacket. Keep this look cozy and casual by pairing with tennis shoes for the perfect on-the-go look.
  3. STYLE IT WITH CHAMBRAY

chambray top // utility jacket // black jeans (leggings) // cable knit scarf // watch // booties // black handbag A chambray shirt is such a great basic piece to have in your wardrobe. Chambray has been in style for awhile and doesn't seem to be going anywhere! I love pairing chambray with black jeans in Fall/Winter and with white jeans in Spring/Summer. Try layering with a utility jacket and adding a scarf for a cozy casual outfit. You can also wear this shirt unbuttoned with a basic tee and tennis shoes for an even more casual look that is perfect for going to the pumpkin patch.
  4. COZY UP WITH A SWEATER
How beautiful is this blush sweater? This color is on-trend for Fall and pairs beautifully with an olive utility jacket. I love how cozy this look is paired with booties, great for a day out shopping for friends. This look will keep you warm on the cooler Fall days without the extra bulk. I love layering looks like this, if it warms up throughout the day you can take off the jacket and rock the sweater for an easy casual look. For a look that is perfect for a rainy day or going apple picking, swap the booties out and wear your favorite rain boots.
  5. MUST-HAVE RUCHED DRESS
Y'all know how obsessed I am with this dress! It is so comfortable and extremely flattering. It is a pretty fitted dress so I would size up if you want a more relaxed fit. I've shown you a few ways to wear this dress (here, here), the possibilities are endless! This versatile dress comes in a tank and long sleeve style, as well as many different colors. I love that they offer this staple dress in two styles, making it perfect for everyone no matter where you live. If you live in a warmer climate the tank style would be perfect for you, or if you are in a cooler climate the long sleeve style would be best for you. This dress works for everyone!  I love how the grey dress pairs the olive utility jacket, such a classic look for Fall. I added a pop of color and pattern with a classic blanket scarf and of course my cowboy boots to complete the look. You could easily create multiple looks just by swapping the cowboy boots with booties, rainboots, or tennis shoes.
