It's been awhile....life has been so crazy. I am so excited to be back and share all the progress we have made on the house. It seriously still amazes me that this is the same house! With just paint alone it has transformed our home. After seeing what a simple thing such paint can really do to a space, I decided to paint our fireplace surround! I have hated the color of the tile since we moved in, it just looked so dingy and didn't match the crisp clean style I was going for. I went through a couple of options such as replacing the tile, using Smart tiles (peel and stick tiles), and painting it with a stencil. After doing some research, I decided it would be best to keep it simple and paint it white. I figured if I hated it I could paint with a stencil over it or stick the tile over the paint. For the perfect white paint, I used the same paint I used on my kitchen cabinets SW Alabaster in ProClassic Semi-Gloss. This paint has held up so great on my cabinets and I just love the color. I never realized how many shades of white there were until we started on our fixer upper....its insane. I created a quick YouTube video of the process to share with y'all so you can follow along!
I am obsessed with the outcome! It has brighten up the space so much and flows with our style perfectly. What do y'all think?! I challenge you to try a DIY project in your own home, it is so much fun and so rewarding!
