Christmas Home Tour 2017

Happy Holiday's Y'all! Today I have a very special post for you....My Christmas Home Tour 2017! This is our first Christmas in this house so it was challenging yet exciting decorating for the holidays this year. I had to buy almost all new decor (which my husband wasn't too happy about) but I think it came out beautifully. There are still a few more things I wanted to do but those will have to wait until next year! I kept with my farmhouse-inspired theme with neutral colors and a pop of color here and there. Without further ado let's get to it!
Welcome to my 2017 Christmas Home Tour! Grab yourself a giant cup of hot cocoa, a cozy blanket, turn on some Christmas music, and come on in!
FRONT DOOR
I feel in love with this Hearth & Hand by Magnolia wreath when I saw it in Target. I had my husband at the store when it opened the day the collection came out to make sure I could grab it as well as a few other pieces you will see in this home tour. If you have been following me for awhile you know I am all about neutrals and simplicity when it comes to my home decor, so it's no surprise that I kept my front porch simple. This little olive bucket with a small Christmas tree really inspired the total look of my front porch. The lantern really completed the look by balancing out the tree and tieing all of the colors together. I wanted to keep our front door very simple but still showcase my style.

ENTRYWAY
This little space came out so cute! Majority of the items on my entryway shelf are DIY! The little sled was a Target dollar spot find that I removed the wreath and painted it with chalk paint. The Comfort & Joy sign I made back in this post. To dress up the old window I picked up two beautiful swags from Micheals and made a bow to complete the look. Next, to make the garland I used some plain green garland I already had and added the cotton and bell tree garland from Hobby Lobby. I am all about black and white buffalo check this year so I added a pillow in this classic print and a Merry Christmas pillow, both from Kirkland's, to tie everything together. How cute are the little ice skates hanging from the shelf?! I knew as soon as I saw them at Hobby Lobby they were going to be the focal point and inspiration for my entryway. Lastly, I decided to dress up our stair railing with a beautiful garland from Micheals and a few DIY bows to tie in the buffalo check theme. This area came out so beautifully and really makes a statement of my style when you enter the door.

LIVING ROOM
Welcome to our living room! This is always the coziest area in our home. The living room is directly to the left when entering our home so I wanted it to feel very inviting. I kept this room very neutral just like I did with my Fall decor. I considered adding pops of red but I'm glad I stuck with the neutrals in this room and added the red in a different room. The tray on our coffee table as well as the filler is from the Hearth & Hand collection at Target. I had to add a little Joanna Gaines to my holiday decor! The wreath over the TV is a plain wreath that I picked up at Micheals for $2 and added two swag picks like the ones in our entryway. I made a quick burlap bow and it turned out so beautiful and cost me only around $10 to make! To give my TV stand a festive touch I added this gorgeous garland that I picked up from Micheals on major sale (75% off!) and cut the red berries off to match my decor better. I added a string of battery packed lights to really complete the look and give it the perfect glow.  We do not have a fireplace in our home so I hung our stockings on the blanket ladder my husband made and it turned out beautifully. I love the simplicity of this room and cozy vibe it gives.

CHRISTMAS TREE
This year I went with a totally different theme than my normal traditional red and green theme. To flow with the rest of my decor I decided to do a neutral rustic tree. For this tree, I added in different textures with the burlap, cotton and pinecones ornaments, ribbon, and wood sign. I have been obsessed with black & white buffalo check/gingham this year. I incorporated it into my Fall decor and transitioned it into my Christmas decor as well. It is so classic and the perfect farmhouse touch to my decor. All of my ornaments and ribbon are from Hobby Lobby with the exception of the Noel sign which is from Kirkland's. This year I also added a galvanized tree collar from the Hearth & Hand by Magnolia collection and y'all it is so cute! I love the way this tree turned out and I think it matches my decor perfectly!

DINNING ROOM
I just love to decorate this room every season....it's my "pop of color" room. I tend to keep my decor throughout our home neutral but in this room I like to add small pops of color. The hutch and table were a birthday gift from my husband a few years ago from my favorite antique store in Texas. My hutch is always so fun to style. I added a few festive pieces in red for the perfect pop of color. I finally found my first Rae Dunn mug and had to showcase it! It looks so cute on my scale with greenery and berries.
The console table was made by my husband and is one of my favorite peices! We love to work on projects together like this and have made several pieces of furniture in our home.  I added one of my DIY Christmas signs, two trees from Hobby Lobby and the most adorable truck! This truck has to be my favorite new decor item that I picked it up at Target! It was a green color that didn't really match my style so I gave it a facelift with some white chalk paint!
For my tablescape this year I wanted it to be simple with a pop of color. I found the cutest table runner at Kirkland's and I thought it would be the perfect way to incorporate my buffalo check theme to this room. I added the same garland from our TV stand to our tables but I left the red berries on for a pop of color. Lastly, I completed our tablescape with a simple white lantern from Kirkland's and two silver trees from Yankee Candle. It came out exactly how I envisioned and I love it! I really love the finished look of this room and think the only thing I would add is a beautiful Christmas tree in the corner....maybe next year!

KITCHEN

This has to be my least favorite space in our home....I just hate the orange-tone oak cabinets! Being that we live in military housing we can't paint them so I've been trying to dress them up to make them look a little better. My favorite spot of the kitchen is the tall window over the sink. I added a swag pick just like the ones in our entryway and living room for a festive touch. The Fresh Baked Pies sign was another DIY project I did this year. I used a simple frame from Hobby Lobby and used my Silhouette Cameo machine to create the perfect vinyl sticker to complete this project. To tie in my buffalo check theme I added this printed mason jar from Kirkland's. I received the cutest Rae Dunn planter from one of my Instagram friends! I added some Hearth & Hand by Magnolia at Target filler and simple red decorative balls to make it holiday ready! I did not do much to the kitchen but I think it is festive for the holidays without adding extra clutter to the kitchen.

THE END!

And that's it....you made it to the end of my 2017 Christmas Home Tour. I hope you enjoyed this year's tour and it gave you some inspiration for your own home! Smokey wanted to make an appearance and tell everyone to have a Happy Holiday's!
